June – Their Wedding Was Just Ducky

Ben and Marc had to be one of my all-time favorite couples. They wanted to have their wedding on “The Farm,” in Sebastopol. Marc had been lovingly raising a flock of ducks and he suited each one up with a bow tie for a “running of the ducks” directly after the ceremony!

The wedding site itself was challenging as the space Ben wanted for the ceremony was the same space they wanted to use for the dinner reception. BUT where there’s a will, there’s a way.

With an amazing team from Mazza Catering, along with my team, Wilfried, and Rose Torres, we “flipped” the ceremony. What that meant was actually setting all the tables up with linen, china, flatware, and glassware behind a vineyard row away from the guests’ view.

After the ceremony, when the guests had retreated to the garden area and deck overlooking the valley and vineyards, the chairs were moved to the sides, the fully set tables were picked up and put into place and the centerpieces were then set into the center of each table, then the chair brought to each table. From the end of the ceremony until guest seating was called was just over 45 minutes. Voila!
